We normally do not use the word 'cure' for cancer because there is always a risk of cancer coming back after treatment. We use the word 'remission' instead which means that the disease is under control and there are no signs and symptoms of cancer but the malignant cells may still be present in the dormant/inactive state.
Coming to stage III Lung cancer (NSCLC), the average 5-year survival ranges between 15%-36% as per the substage (A/B/C). This means that 15 to 36 patients with stage 3 non-small cell lung cancer would survive for 5 years or more.
