Chemotherapy side-effects

  • Hi. What are the side-effects of chemotherapy?

  • Hi Radha. Chemotherapy drugs generally act on rapidly dividing cells. Normal cells which are rapidly dividing are also affected. Side effects include nausea, vomiting, a decrease in blood counts which may lead to anemia, infections. Some drugs may show hypersensitivity reactions during infusion. Specific side effects depend on the type of chemotherapy drug which can be discussed with treating physician. Hope this helps!
