Treatment for metastatic throat cancer

  • My father, 55 years, had cancer in his throat that spread to the glands in his neck. What treatment should he follow? Please advise.

  • Hello Harsh,

I am so sorry to learn about your father's condition. Head and neck cancers with lymph node involvement are considered as stage 3 disease. Treatment depends upon the site of lesion and stage. Options include surgery followed by radiation or definitive treatment with radiation (+/- chemotherapy) alone.

We would advise you to consult an oncologist to get a thorough treatment advise. Alternatively, you could sign up with us on to receive an opinion from one of our empanelled expert oncologists.
