My biopsy report says - Four fragments of rectal mucosa are seen. Three are unremarkable. One shows presence of moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma. What does this mean? What should be done?

  • Hi, your biopsy report confirms the diagnosis of rectal cancer. The further treatment plan depends on the stage of the disease. The standard treatment protocol includes radiotherapy with chemotherapy followed by surgery followed by adjuvant chemotherapy. If the disease has spread to distant organs, palliative treatment is suggested. For further clarification, we would request you to visit an oncologist. If need be you can always visit to get a treatment plan from one of our empanelled doctors. Do take care and keep us updated!
