Does lump imply cancer?

  • I can feel a lump, what type of cancer do I have?

  • Hi Shraddha,

A lump in the breast can be cancerous or non-cancerous. If the lump is hard, immobile, fixed to skin or chest wall, or associated with axillary swelling it most commonly points towards a cancerous lump. It is recommended to undergo a diagnostic mammogram when a lump is found. Additionally, a biopsy is required to confirm the diagnosis.

We would advise you to meet a general physician first and then get the recommended tests to determine whether or not it is cancerous. In case of any further queries, we are always here to help you. Hoping for the best. Take care.
